Man Made Marvels – Taiwan Tunnel | Documentary Animation
This is the story of the Beiyi Freeway; the road they said cannot be built. To build it they’ll have to make seven major river crossings and bore through five gigantic mountains including the biggest of them the gigantic Hsueshan mountain that rises several thousand metres into the crisp mountain air. It will mean building the longest road tunnel in Asia through some of the most challenging geology ever encountered by tunnellers and that’s where the challenge in building this highway really lies.

Man Made Marvels – Korea Train Express (KTX) | Documentary Animation
South Korea needed a network – to bridge these huge geographic boundaries, and physically bring the nation together. The challenge was laying 412 kilometres of railway, constructing 51 new tunnels through 190 kilometres of undulating mountainside, and raising 104 bridges over South Korea’s numerous rivers. There was only one solution – more ambitious, more demanding and more risky than any engineering project ever undertaken in Korea – the Korea Train Express (KTX).

Man Made Marvels – Petronas Towers | Documentary Animation
The Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, were the world’s tallest towers from 1998 to 2004, if measured from the level of the main entrance to the structural top. The story follows the building of Petronas Towers, from its early inception in 1998 to completion in 2004 and the route to become the tallest buildings in the world on the date of completion. The 88-floor towers are constructed largely of reinforced concrete, with a steel and glass facade designed to resemble motifs found in Islamic art, a reflection of Malaysia’s Muslim religion.

Man Made Marvels – Okinawa Aquarium | Documentary Animation
This is the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium in Okinawa, Japan. It’s home to one of the most impressive collections of marine life in the world. The Churaumi Aquarium is located at ‘Ocean Expo Park’ in Motobu-cho, on Okinawa’s north-western coastline. This national park was created in August 1976, on the site of the previous year’s ‘World Ocean Expo’. While enjoying its many attractions, visitors are also treated to a beautiful outlook over the East China Sea. What lives within that beautiful ocean is the very inspiration for the magnificent Churaumi aquarium.

Man Made Marvels – Taipei 101 | Documentary Animation
Taipei 101 is much more than just the world’s tallest building – it’s a man made marvel. One of the most amazing feats of design, engineering and construction ever accomplished, its story is a unique mix of cutting edge technology, traditional ideals, strong nationalist determination and stacks of massive machinery, huge forces and mega-construction. The story will follow the building of Taipei 101, from its early inception to the remarkable raising of its 470 tonne pinnacle.

Secrets of the Battleship Yamato Documentary Animation
Commissioned by Bang Singapore for the documentary ‘Secrets of the Battleship Yamato’, this involved a series of 3D and 2D animated CG sequences showcasing the majesty and technical prowess of the largest battleship known to sail the face of the earth – the Yamato.
Mediafreaks reconstructed the Yamato in 3D and animated various shots which displayed the Japanese Imperial Army’s gigantic battleship in its splendor. Flyby shots with realistic lighting and technical sequences which compared the Yamato to other famous battleships were created. The documentary – which was broadcasted on the Discovery Network and the Nova Channel – received spectacular ratings and viewer ship.
Emperor of The Seas: The Voyages of Zheng He | Documentary Animation
In July 1405, the Ming Emperor Yongle gave Zheng He command of the greatest armada the world has ever seen. His brief was to travel to the Western Ocean with some 300 ships and persuade the rulers of other lands to offer homage to the Emperor as the “Son of Heaven”. Between 1405 and 1433, Zheng He led seven voyages from China as far as Africa. It was an extraordinary change of fortune for the Emperor’s trusted servant.

Rainforest Challenge – Mud, Guts and Glory – Documentary Animation
Every year in Terrenganu hundreds of off-road enthusiasts gather to participate in the Rainforest Challenge – a grueling 10 day ride in the swampy forests where contestants find solutions to negotiate their way around difficult terrains and establish good teamwork.
A documentary production by Mega Media for Voom on Rainbow Media, Mediafreaks was commissioned to create the CG for it.
During the documentary, CG was deployed to showcase the features of three of the competiting vehicles and to create a high-tech look for the entire show.

SuperCell Medical Animation Documentary
Imagine if there was a cure for Heart Disease, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Imagine if we could successfully treat cancer and blood disorders. Imagine if those with spinal cord damage could walk again.
Scientists are learning that the cure to all these conditions may be answered with stem cells. Stem cells are the building blocks of life, the bodies natural repair mechanism and discovering their remarkable regenerative properties has propelled the world into a race to harness the power of these super cells. And in this race, the East is leaving the West far behind.
Super Cells is a medical documentary that received many accolades including the Best Documentary, Best Social Awareness Programme, Best Direction by Asian TV Awards 2007 and Silver Medallist at the New York International TV Broadcasting Festival.
